On February 21st I left for a quick trip to Costa Rica. I would be gone only
ten days, including travel time. I arrived in San Jose at 9:30 at night and
just took a cab to my hotel.

I walked around the main tourist drag for a little while, then transferred
to the hotel where I met the tour group. I was doing another G Adventures
tour.

| February 23, 2019 - Saturday | La Fortuna | Costa Rica |

We drove to a town called La Fortuna. This is a tourist town, no local charm
at all, but there are a bunch of activities you can do around here. On the
way we stopped at a coffee processing place to see how that works. I don't
drink coffee but I did try it, and did not like it although other people in
the group did. Anyway, so we arrived in the town and then went to a presentation on what there is to do. After we went to a hot springs resort to soak in the water which was excellent and then had dinner. |

| February 24, 2019 - Sunday | La Fortuna | Costa Rica |
Today we all went off to do the various activities we had chosen. I did the
hanging bridges, which is an easy hike through the jungle with bridges
spanning some of the valleys. This was okay, but I expected to see much more
wildlife than we did.

| February 25, 2019 - Monday | Monteverde | Costa Rica |
| Today we went to Monteverde. This town is up in the mountains, and man was it cold! The first day here I did a butterfly garden, and than we did a jungle night walk. Here we did see some more wildlife including toucans and a sloth. | ||
| February 26, 2019 - Tuesday | Monteverde | Costa Rica |
In the morning we did a hike in the cloud forest and then in the afternoon
we did the highlight of the trip - zip lining. This was a ton of fun. There
were roughly ten normal ziplines and then two extremely long and high ones
that you go headfirst (like superman). I was grinning the entire time. At
the end was the Tarzan Swing. Now I had not researched this at all. I
thought we would get attached to a rope and than swing to a platform or
something. Well it turns out that you walk out to this ledge that must have
been about 150 feet up in the air. Then they hook you up and tell you to
step off into the air. Then you fall straight down until you think you will
hit the ground, when the rope catches you and starts you swinging. Very
scary, very fun. Only four of us in the group did it.

| February 27, 2019 - Wednesday | Quepos | Costa Rica |
Leaving Monteverde we drove to the west coast to Quepos which is just
outside of the Manual Antonio park. We spent the afternoon at the public
beach and watched the sun set.

| February 28, 2019 - Thursday | Quepos | Costa Rica |
This morning we went into the park. I did all the trails, saw numerous
sloths and a ton of monkeys. Watched a monkey steal a sandwich right out of
someone’s backpack. In the afternoon we did a catamaran trip around the area
which was pretty fun. They had snorkeling gear, so I tried that but the
water was so stirred up that viability was almost nil.

| The morning I spent lounging around the hotel and pool and than in the afternoon we drove back to San Jose and then went for a final group dinner. | ||

| Fly home. This was a nice trip and we had a great tour leader named Fredrico who was a local and definitely made the trip better. | ||
